2018 LC ManSask championships were held this past weekend, and the Skimmers did amazing! Coach Pamela and Gavin were our representatives. The competition was hard, with high calibre swimmers from BC through Ontario participating.
Gavin swam 6 events – making finals in all 6 – including achieving 8 new Personal Bests – and setting 8 new Club Records! Gavin also brought home 2-5th place finishes, 2-4th place finishes, a 3rd in the 50 Free and a 2nd in the 50 breast! There were very few MB or SK swimmers finishing ahead of him, and his performance won him the Top Swimmer award for his age group.
A tradition at all ManSask meets is for the top swimmers in each age category to form a “provincial relay team” to compete head to head with SK. Skimmers were well represented with Gavin being chosen for this team, and Coach Pamela being chosen as 1 of the 2 coaches for this team. Click here to see relay – Gavin Swam leg 2 in closest lane
We were also happy to see the Skimmers add a new honorary member, Jarvis Gibb (TPRR). In return, Gavin now holds “dual citizenship” as an honorary member of the Roadrunner club.
Congratulations to both Gavin and Coach Pamela on an amazing performance for the Skimmers
