What a great weekend for the Skimmers at the Manta’s inaugural long course PWI meet.  The meet was held at the Pan Am Pool and used both the main and training tanks simultaneously for the morning preliminary sessions.  Top 16 in each category qualified for the finals and competed again each evening.

There were over 900 swimmers from 33 clubs, coming from Vancouver through Toronto to compete – and the field was fast!  Really fast.  To give you an idea of the calibre of team our club was competing against, Coach Pamela had the pleasure of meeting the former coach of Emily Overholt – Olympic bronze medal winner.

Seeing the competitors this weekend, reaffirms how proud we are of the 5 Skimmers qualifying for this event.  30% of our eligible swimmers qualified, which was above average for small & medium clubs.  While the Skimmers didn’t reach the podium, we had some amazing results to share and celebrate:
