As you all know, the meet schedule for this year has been a little “dis-jointed” compared to past years. As we head into the tail-end of the season, the club is looking to balance competitive meets (eg. GPI, Provincials, ManSask) with getting qualifying times, and team-building opportunities.
GPI is being held April 28 – 30 at the Pan Am Pool. For those aiming for qualifying times, the Marlin Sprint/Distance meet is April 8th. May brings the 2 final meets of the year before Provincials and ManSask Championships. The club’s goal is to get as many Provincial and ManSask qualifiers as possible.
The club is considering adding the Brandon Long Course Invitational to our meet list on April 22nd and 23rd. It’s a reasonable distance – it gets our swimmers out of them comfort zone – and it is another opportunity to achieve the qualifying times for GPI, Provincials and ManSask. Based on the feedback and experience at the Christmas meet in Grand Forks – it is also an amazing opportunity for team building.
We aren’t looking for commitment at this point – We are simply looking to see who would be interested. If there is interest, the club will look into specific details. Please send us a quick note if you are possibly interested.
